Hyer Hires a Big One For School Fundraiser

My elementary school held bake sales and cakewalks to raise cash. Hyer — ye place of dancing moms and coordinated skits — books Jerry Jeff Walker.  Seriously. The country star is slated as musical guest for the school’s March 5 auction at Eddie Deen’s Ranch.

All are welcome, says publicity chair Kirsten Alessio, who tells me the event is also “a birthday party” of sorts, as Hyer turns 60 this year.  Mr. Walker, for the record, is 67.

The big to-do starts at 6 p.m. on March 5; tickets are $130, and include food and drinks, with all proceeds benefiting Hyer and HPISD. Reserve yours by e-mail at hyerpta@yahoo.com.

An accompanying online auction is set to run Friday through March 2, at hyer.auctionanything.com.

Correction: proceeds benefit HYER, not HPISD.

“Hyer and HPISD” is actually what the invitation says, hyerrocks, so I’ve changed the post to reflect as much. Thanks for your help!
