That area has a long history of bad accidents - usually caused by someone trying to beat the light at McFarlin. I remember back in the mid 80s when a guy ran the light on Preston, struck a car crossing at McFarlin, and crashed his car on the light post on the corner. It was a horrible scene - the car (a black Audi 5000) was wrapped completely around the pole and blood was dripping out. The man was killed instantly. A few years later, a car with two HPHS students was struck by a speeder while crossing at McFarlin. Another time (before the Audi accident if I remember correctly) someone ran the light on Preston and struck a man on a motorcycle crossing the same intersection.

Slow down, people! And put down the phone.

Not Nurse Brown! Is she ok? We love love love Nurse Brown - best school nurse EVER!

bdad - you need an I phone for your lil precious, you can activate the GPS in it and track her wherever she goes.

I am aware there are electronics involved in today's cars, I had no idea there were black boxes on them gathering data. Who accesses the info? And how?

Very sad! I heard that the Honda driver was the school nurse from Armstrong and that the driver of the Cadillac was quite obviously "out of it".

@kmom .... yes, there are lots of electronics (see Toyota) in modern automobiles, even a sort of black box. Not all cars have a "black box", and they record significantly different information than an airline "black box". As long ago as the early 2000 time frame, there would be typically more than 32 computer chips in a car. In higher end cars, like Cadillac, there would usually be more. As @Scooter said, the black boxes didn't appear until somewhat recently.

I'm just hoping that in 8 years, I can track a car that a very specific young girl will be driving, and I can download and analyze that black box information myself, if you know what I mean.

@kmom Yes they can have a black box but the Cadillac in the accident was a little too old to come with that feature.

Incredible ... I cant believe no one else was injured! Also, cannot believe that the Honda driver was able to leave the hospital so soon. Do we know the age or gender of the Cadillac driver?
