Young Starts Tonight, Kershaw Tomorrow

Highland Park alums Chris Young and Clayton Kershaw are both No. 2 in the starting rotation for the San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers, respectively, this season.

Young gets the start tonight when the Padres play at Arizona at 8:40 p.m. Kershaw will start tomorrow at 6:05 p.m. at Pittsburgh.

Young battled injuries last year and finished 4-6 with a 5.21 ERA, while Kershaw was 8-8 with a sterling 2.79 ERA.

Perhaps this will be the year where it will all line up for Young and Kershaw to square off against each other. The Dodgers and Padres play five times in May, three times in July, four times in August, and six times in September.

Kershaw is an example of how hard work in high school will pay off. He is well liked in LA.
