Chef and author John DeMers is bringing his talent with pots and pens to Central Market on Lovers Lane at 6:30 p.m. today.
Between readings from his new book Marfa Shadows, which details the adventures of fictional culinary crime-fighter Brett Baldwin, DeMers will show attendees how to make his lead character’s signature Texas-flavored cuisines. We’re talking scrumptous Shiner-braised beef short ribs, jalapeno-cheese polenta, and praline sweet potatoes. Mmmm, if only all book readings were this deliciously interactive. Cost is $60.
