Hoarders in Highland Park?

Do you ever watch Hoarders? I find it fascinating. Of course, if you took a look at my garage right now, you might nominate me to be featured on the show.

The Highland Park police blotter this week includes a report of a theft in the 6100 block of St. Johns Drive that brought Hoarders to mind. The “victim” in this case is the daughter-in-law of the homeowner, who died in June. On July 28, the woman went to the house for the first time since June 18, the day of her mother-in-law’s funeral, and discovered someone had broken in and stolen — at the very least — three shoe boxes filled with jewelry.

Here’s the sentence in the report that got my attention:

“The house is a hoarder house with piles of items all over every room and space, so victim is unsure whether anything else is missing.”

Can someone write a story about how ugly the Wells Fargo signs at Preston and mockingbird are? Three of the signs make the intersection look terrible. All of the other signs are very understated. Am I wrong?

@corbin. Agreed. How did this get approved by the city. One of the blogger sleuths from this paper needs to research.

I’ve been resisting the urge to hoard DVD box-sets of the Hoarders show.

@Corbin, You are so totally right on. Wells Fargo needs to be a good neighbor and loose the sign. We don’t do BIG SIGNAGE in this town. A couple of calls to the Mayor or a Council person should get some results. That sign is damaging to the senses!

Just take a look in most park cities garages and you’ll find lots of hoarding going on….. one of the reasons for so many cars parked on our streets. Get rid of the junk, people!

Call me! I’ll come clean it out for a small fee, post it on my web site to sell and generate a little cash for each of us. More importantly – the items have a new home with someone he needs or wants it! 214-802-5363
