Vuvuzelas Need to Go

One question. Who thought these World Cup-ish vuvuzelas would be a good thing to sell at the Scots game last Friday night? The person in charge of this should be written up at the very least.

I can only speak for myself and all those around me, but we found them very disruptive and spoiled the home football game experience. They also conflicted with the Highlander Band.
I think the boys selling them are a pretty industrious lot. Don’t put yourselves in a knot. They are being outlawed everywhere else so it’s only a matter of time.
These boys are on a great path to grow up and become insurance defense lawyers or lobbyists for the oil and gas industry…
GO SKATS
Umm, Reggie was being sarcastic. I thought it was pretty funny.
Forget Vuvuzela’s, I’m skipping right to air horns. Sure, it’s annoying, but I’m just exercizing my HP given right to do whatever I want, whenever I want. Nothing I love more than spoiled rich kids calling out their spoiled parents. Precious.
Secondly, you sound like a student so let me clue you in on something; iT’S THE PARENTS THAT PAY PROPERTY TAXES AND THE INVESTORS THAT BUY THE BONDS THAT PAY FOR YOUR EDUCATION AND THE FACILITIES THAT MAKE UP HP HIGHSCHOOL. You have no freaking say in the matter. We parents could care less about your opinion and whether your going to make money on your noise makers. If the parents opinion is that the noise makers are obnoxious then they will be banned without regard to your opinion.
Scots student is right: he can blow his horn to “speight” the parents (which, in fact, demonstrates that it was never about supporting the team in the first place).
Reggie: I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Merritt haters: on her behalf, thank you, and keep on reading.
Screw the band. They take 2/3 of the game off to get ready for halftime or take a break after halftime. So few people pay attention to the game anyway that the horns make up for those sitting on their hands.
Anyone who watched the World Cup saw this coming down the track. The vuvuzelas are banned in numerous places, and, as my student indicated, they are banned from pep rallies already. Take a chill pill folks, this too shall pass. Let them have some fun for a little while, even if they do have a bad attitude.
I’m just gonna guess but I’m pretty sure the bond on the stadium has been paid for years. And between the activity fees, tickets, concessions and Sports Club I would guess the football team is more or less self supporting.
There was a team in the playoffs a couple years ago that would fill propane tanks with ball bearings, others go crazy with cow bells, now the mighty Scots have horns. This seems like one where people should chill.
It will prevent a person having multiple aliases giving the same opinion more than once.
There are ways to get around that too. Besides, the comments you are referring to were inarticulate and childish, and it appears they got exactly the reaction the kids were looking for–regardless of how many kids wrote them. I think most people see those comments for what they are. The ominous threat just seems pointless–especially when it sounds like someone from the paper who supports this blog wrote it.
If you are unhappy with the stupid horns, voice your opinion to the administration. Quite frankly, I find the competing drum corps equally annoying when they practice before the half time show. Unfortunately, I can’t stop that.
All the kids have iPhones. There is an App you can download of the Vuvuleza for free. They can just play the app if they want to make noise.
Your guess would be wrong about the stadium. New lights, new PA system, did something with the press area and they did something in relation to a seal coat on the concrete floor of the stands. There was no irony in my previous comment. When you pay for it you can have the right to be part of the decision-making.
That is all,
