Allen Can Tie Bevers on Friday Night

Highland Park head football coach Randy Allen can tie former Scots coach Frank Bevers for the most wins in school history with a victory over Wylie on Friday night at Highlander Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Allen is 133-15 since taking over as head coach of the Scots in 1999. In two stints at Highland Park, Bevers finished with a career record of 134-43-1.

It sure seems like the football gods have everything lined up perfectly for Allen and his team. If the Scots (5-0, 2-0) are able to knock off the Pirates (3-2, 1-1) on Friday, Allen would be going for the all-time lead against rival Pearce the following week at Highlander Stadium.

first, he is a natty dresser.
second, wish he would substitute more
freely during the season’s blow outs.
but know this. if you took 9 out of 10
HP opponents rosters and swapped coaching
staffs in the previous spring, coach allen
    would still have 133 wins.
the man can coach some football.

HP is never the biggest, fastest or most athletic. We are, however, the most disciplined and best coached.

HP has been blessed with amazing men as coaches. Frank Bevers was a good coach and a great man that took the time to teach the boys what it looked like to be a man. Coach Allen is doing the same. Their imprint on HP is not merely an astounding win/loss record, but rather they have helped some boys grow up in a way only a good coach can.
