Poston Earns First-Team All-State

Highland Park senior cornerback Blake Poston (5-9, 165) earned a first-team selection on the Texas Associated Press Sports Editors’ Class 4A All-State Football Team, which was released on Wednesday.

Poston was the only first-team selection for the Scots, although senior offensive lineman Kyle Stouffer (6-6, 294) and senior defensive lineman Mauricio Garza (6-2, 233) earned honorable mention.

Kerrville Tivy’s Johnny Manziel was the Offensive Player of the Year, while Denton Ryan’s Mario Edwards was the Defensive Player of the Year.
