The Things We Do For You People …

During our time at People Newspapers, Georgia Fisher and I have taken on some interesting assignments in the name of first-person stories. Georgia rowed with the Highland Park crew team. I previewed the new University Park water slide. Georgia shopped at Wynnewood Village’s three — yes, three — wig stores. I underwent a seven-hour, head-to-toe physical at the Cooper Fitness Center.

This weekend, we’re going to join forces — or should I say compete head to head? Oak Cliff’s Spiral Diner is marking its anniversary with a vegan pancake eating contest Sunday. And Georgia and I plan to participate, forcing as many flapjacks down our throats as we can in five minutes. Pray for us.

You are in for a treat! Spiral Diner is simply awesome. Save room for dessert. And supreme nachos. Mmmm.
