Rise and Shine, Park Cities (2-25-11)
1. On Page 4A of today’s edition of Park Cities People, you will find a stunning photo of Gina Ginsburg. I asked Gina to participate in our “She’s Got The Look” feature after I saw pictures of her wearing a pair of thigh-high, snakeskin boots. She brought said boots to our office for a photo shoot, and I was nearly as enamored with the shoes she was wearing when she arrived: a pair of Manolo Blahniks designed to look like Converse Chuck Taylor All-Stars. This lady knows her footwear. (She also knows how to fly several planes. Seriously. Don’t mess with Gina.)
2. Park Cities moms Mary Jaminet and Jennifer Keefe have booked Jenny McCarthy to appear at Dallas Rocks Against Autism, a concert benefiting the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law & Advocacy, Brains For Autism, and the Warrior Parents of Dallas Benevolent Fund. Just like pilots who can rock snakeskin boots, mothers of autistic children are not to be trifled with. Trust me — I’m married to one.
3. Remember when I told you that Georgia Fisher and I would be entering a vegan-pancake-eating contest? Well, when the five minutes of gorging was over, I had eaten twice as many pancakes as Georgia (10 to five), but the winner had eaten twice as many as me — plus one. If you find yourself in North Oak Cliff this weekend, pick up a copy of Park Cities People‘s sister paper Oak Cliff People to read all about it. Or you could just watch this video.

If you don’t want to donate $25 because Jenny McCarthy is coming, fine. But her attending does not make the entire event and the groups it will help unworthy. Nor does it tell me anything about Ms. Jaminet’s opinion of vaccines.
