Hammer Hails From Highland Park? Who Knew?

Here’s a converge of coincidences: The current edition of Park Cities People includes a story I wrote about an actor named J.R. Nutt, who spent some time in the Bubble as a kid. That edition came out the same weekend that I finally got around to seeing The Social Network – the same weekend that I found out one of the actors in that film, Armie Hammer, also grew up in the Park Cities. (Thanks, Alan Peppard.)

How many of you were aware that Hammer — who impressively plays the Winklevoss twins in the Oscar-nominated film — was a Highland Park kid? And why didn’t any of you tell me before now?

Armie Hammer is ridiculously attractive. That is all.

Yeah. He attended Providence Christian School with my son.

If you think about it, it really wasn’t a “Meryl Streep” performance considering he was practically playing a popular kid from HPHS

Yeah, but he played two of them. My wife had no idea it was one actor.

I knew him when we were kids. Our families were friends growing up. He was on our float during a park cities 4th of July Parade one year.
