Armstrong Principal Announces Retirement

Just as a story about assistant superintendent Ben Coker’s retirement is hitting Park Cities lawns, the Highland Park school district has announced that Armstrong principal Mary Richey is stepping down.

According to the news release, Richey has been with HPISD since 1996. HerĀ 34-year education career began as an English teacher. She went on to serve as a counselor, assistant principal, and principal in Arlington ISD and Garland ISD schools.

Any Armstrong parents have a suggestion for a replacement?

It will indeed be a challenge to find a replacement for Dr. Richey. I’m so pleased my children were able to attend Armstrong under her leadership. We wish her the best!
