Lyda Hill Pledges $20 Million to Hockaday
Clearly, Lyda Hill has a competitive streak.
When she announced her $10 million gift to Hockaday for classroom improvements, the school informed her it would be the third-largest donation to date from a living alumna.
Hill quickly asked, “How big were the other two?”
The philanthropist and 1960 Hockaday grad doubled her gift on stage at a school ceremony, drawing tears of joy from those in attendance. For more information, read the school’s press release.
