HPISD Announces Yet Another Retirement

Two weeks ago, it was Ben Coker. Last week, it was Mary Richey. As of 30 minutes ago, it’s Bradfield Elementary School principal Gloria McNutt, who has been leading her campus since 1998.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Dawson Orr sent out another column last night about the district’s budget crunch. Is it a coincidence that all these big salaries are coming off the books at the same time?

Dan, I think you are on to something.

Does this perhaps mean we’re going to shared principals at the elementary schools?

    AMD,

How about ONE principal at MIS?

  4. HPHS Mom @ April 10, 2011 at 9:11 am
@AMD It means young principals with much lower salaries.

@bm There has been one principal at MIS/HPMS since 2005, when Kimbroly Pool retired.

Interesting that one cost saving measure was cutting athletic buses, but don’t we have ace fees to cover them????

@HPHS Mom. I think s/he meant MIS should have its own principal, separate from the HPMS principal, but I like it the way it is now

    There are no coincidences.

Hmmmm. A very interesting “coincidence”, Dan. Plus the “resignation” of Highland Belles Director Christie Crummel. And I say that meaning a forced resignation. There is something in the new water.

  9. [...] the past two weeks, Highland Park ISD has announced the retirement of two elementary principals, and it’s got a few Lake Highlands parents worried. Are LH’s favorite principals [...]

Re the above post …. I’m sure Lake Highlands is great and speaks well that the LH parents are worried … but I really don’t want to turn Highland Park into the “Lake Highlands ISD” Walter Kelly has been enough for me … I hear their drill team director left, too. Google one of their performances … nothing near the quality of the Belles. We just need clones of Jeremy Gilbert (Hyer) throughout the district. That guy knows what he is doing … runs a good ship and is all about the kids!

re the above post Jeremy Gilbert is from LH Wallace Elem, before HP stole him.
