Apparently, Maine Has No Internet Access

I received the following letter in the postal mail:

Dear Editor,

I am currently doing a school research project on the great state Texas. Please consider publishing my request for information to your readers.

Dear Reader,

I am a 6th grader in Maine and have chose the great state of Texas to research. I would very much appreciate any information that you could send me about your state. Thank you for your help.

    Well Dawson, The first thing you should learn is that it is a state where the efforts of the “Stop Bullying” campaigns were apparently enormously unsuccessful when it comes to adults and sixth grade kids from other states.

    I think that is pretty cool that he is trying to get information the old fashioned way. Who knows, one of the requirements for his project may be to obtain information from sources other than the internet.

    Tonight my daughter will be calling my mom to interview her. It would be MUCH easier to email the questions and answers. We could have googled all the needed info. However, I think that is missing the point of the project! Lighten up! Flat Stanley could also be done via email and a color printer, again missing the point.

    I just mailed my letter to Dawson.
    This is like a lemonade stand, I try to always stop.
    Yeah, we all know easier and quicker ways to get information, but the easiest and quickest way, is not always the best way to learn.
    Better that Dawson becomes disillusioned and cynical about adults later on.

    @Dan Brantley, I felt like it was important to respond to Dawson but I’ll admit, I e-mailed the 6th grade teachers and asked them to pass it along instead of licking an envelope. I was proud of myself until I saw your comment. Thanks for making me feel so anti-USPS.
