Game 2 of Series Moved Up Two Hours

After last night’s epic Game 1 between Highland Park and Frisco Wakeland, the two teams will square off in Game 2 of the best-of-three Class 4A regional quarterfinal series a couple of hours earlier than originally scheduled.

Game 2 will now start at 6 p.m. today at Hebron High School because of the threat of thunderstorms in the area. If necessary, Game 3 will still be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hebron.

After falling behind early and battling back to tie the game at 7-7, Highland Park saw things slip away in the eighth inning. Wakeland’s Ryan O’Hearn belted a grand slam off Holt Perlman to put the finishing touches on an unbelievable 4-for-5 night that included 9 RBI.

The Scots (31-5) will try to stave off elimination against the same team that knocked them out of last year’s playoffs. Wakeland (34-4) advanced to last year’s state tourney.
