Rise and Shine, Park Cities (6-20-11)
1. Uh, if you live near the 3300 block of Wentwood in University Park, you already know there was a big fire complicated further by your neighbor’s huge stock of ammo blowing up.
2. I went to the Drater concert Friday night. See my June 24 column for the wrap-up.
3. WARNING: Next link is totally disgusting. But word to Parkies, if you go to Whole Foods, don’t enter the restroom.

What thought could possibly creep into your head next? Urine, excrement, employees not washing hands, dirty diaper changing area…and yes(unfortunately)…sex activities.
I usually do all of mine at Tom Thumb, but sometimes Whole Foods or Krogers just calls my name. Not the restroom, though. Just the produce aisle. In Winter near the bakery, Summer-frozen foods. Oh Baby!
AMD-pornographic? c’mon…you felt a lil something didn’t you? You are naughty.
mk & Crayola-I’m in your camp. Should not have gone to the post, but I did. Ick.
Kudos though to Merritt for posting.
AMD, do you really think this neighborhood is that wholesome? Or do you just want wholesome news?
Is PCP news or wholesome neighborhood news? I like that the crime reports are in the same issue as my kids beating the stuffing out of your kids in sports. I like seeing the houses for sale next to the engagements and weddings. I like the superficial fluff next to the gutter filth. Life is contradictions and juxtapositions.
And Merritt…after going to the Whole Foods bathroom link, I couldn’t bring myself to go to the Drater link. What the heck is a Drater and why should I follow this link after you killed my appetite and appreciation for Whole Foods(at least the restroom)?
However, like most folks who occasionally read this blog, I am not at all surprised by what someone will post on Craig’s list, nor am I surprised that it might come from my one of my neighbors. Given what people say and do publically in today’s society, what they do in their secret life is no longer surprising either. Do I believe we are Mayberry? Absolutely not.
I believe that most people read the local paper because their neighbor’s kids or their own may have a sporting event or school pic in the paper. They may even want to know what is going on with Legacy or what new store is going into Snider Plaza. Let’s face it, if we want hard hitting news, PCP is probably not what we’re looking for. The depravity that goes on in a public bathroom is probably something that most people are aware of and why they avoid them in the first place. The fact that someone is trolling for “gutter filth”, posting it here, and then calling it newsworthy is another thing altogether. If you are looking for gutter filth, you will certainly find it. You are right, life is filled with contradictions. I just think PCP should remember their target audience.
