SMU Prof Talks Cheetahs With Chuck Klosterman

For those looking to blow 10 minutes of their day reading about cheetahs, Usain Bolt, and the mechanics of running, look no further than Chuck Klosterman’s Grantland feature, published yesterday.

For the piece, Klosterman chats with SMU physiology and biomechanics professor Peter Weyand, an expert in, um, cheetahs, Usain Bolt and the mechanics of running. Klosterman bills Weyand “the de facto American expert on the science of sprinting,” so if the Scots are dragging next spring, maybe we should send them down the block for practice.

Anyway, it’s a great piece with a local connection, so have at it. Also, if you haven’t read any of Klosterman’s books, do so now. My recommendations, in order:

1. Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs

2. Chuck Klosterman: IV

3. Killing Yourself to Live

4. Fargo Rock City

5. Eating the Dinosaur

6. Downtown Owl

WHat? I was with you until you got to the book titles?? Don’t get the relevance. Why would I want to read those?

@Confused- No need to read them, but they are all fantastic. Just letting people know. Consider it a summer tangent.
