Heat Must Have Fried Her Logic

This incident from our police blotter is too long to be the Skulduggery of the Week, but it deserves to be highlighted:

Between 7 and 9:40 p.m. Sept. 4, a $150 Schwinn bicycle was stolen from outside Barnes & Noble in the 7700 block of Northwest Highway. The victim said she grew hot and thirsty during her ride, so she went inside the bookstore to ask for a glass of water. She stayed inside the store for more than two hours because she decided to conduct some research in the magazine area. She did not secure her bike, because she didn’t think anyone would take it. Not only did someone take her bike, they also took a $20 pack beneath the seat that held her $750 Blackberry, her $200 Carolina Herrera keychain, and her $150 iPod.

Wow. Someone told me once, “there are no victims, only volunteers,” to which I bristled and gave a passionate response.

That post? Totally makes me re-think my position!

Was she a teenager? As the mother of teens, sounds like something they would do! Yes, definitely a volunteer!

She should be ashamed of herself! Putting all those luxurious goods in a $20 Pack?
