Kansas City Up Next For Stafford, Lions

There might not be a Highland Park football game tonight since the Scots are on a bye week, but former Highland Park quarterback Matthew Stafford will be looking to help his Detroit Lions improve to 2-0 on Sunday when they host the Kansas City Chiefs.

Stafford had a big game in last week’s season opener, throwing for 305 yards and three touchdowns to lead Detroit to a 27-20 road win over Tampa Bay.

If Stafford can remain healthy this season after battling injuries his first two years in the NFL, many experts believe the Lions could make the playoffs. Stafford will play in Dallas for the first time as a pro when the Lions take on the Cowboys in Arlington on Oct. 2.
