Police Investigating Cedar Springs Hit And Run
A man was struck and killed by an SUV Friday night on Cedar Springs Road, according to NBC.
Joe King, 62, of Dallas was killed when someone driving a Land Rover or Range Rover hit him on Cedar Springs, between Douglas Avenue and Knight Street. The driver then fled.
The incident is the second hit and run on Cedar Springs this month. On Nov. 2, Wayne Priest was killed crossing Cedar Springs Road near Reagan Street. Police are investigating the lighting and crosswalks in the area.
I know this isn’t in the Park Cities, but bears repeating: use crosswalks. I don’t always do it, you don’t always do it, but we should.

Red light camera: focused on red light intersections.
Gas station camera: focused on a gas station.
ATM camera: focused on the ATM.
My point being, yes, we have a lot of these cameras around, but they aren’t focused on people crossing streets at non-intersections.
