Amy Lafitte and Streeter Berry weddingAmy Lee Lafitte and Robert Streeter Berry exchanged wedding vows September 24 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. The ceremony was officiated by Dr. James C. Denison. A reception of dining and dancing to music provided by the band, Downtown Fever followed in the Grand Hall at Union Station. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the parents of the groom at Hotel ZaZa on the evening before the wedding.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael James Lafitte of Highland Park. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Mix Lafitte of University Park and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lynch Hail of Houston.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crittenden Berry of Dallas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Norris Berry of Oklahoma City, the late Mrs. Ridgely Harrison of Palm Beach, Fla. and the late Mr. Thomas Cozad of Bettendorf, Ia.

For her wedding, the bride chose an incredible gown by designer Monique Lhuillier called Bailey. The ivory strapless gown is made of a sheer silk organza, allowing the dress to move beautifully, while retaining a light, airy feel. The bodice was asymmetrically draped, adding emphasis to the waistline, with a hand tufted skirt featuring intricate floral bouquet accents on both the front and back of the skirt. To complete her look, the bride selected an organza edged veil made by Homa Bridal. The bride’s sapphire engagement ring, her “something old, something blue” was previously owned by the grandmother of the groom. She carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. She was escorted down the aisle by her father. Attending as maid of honor was Laura Ellen Lafitte. Her bridesmaids included Adelaide Hefley Adams, Alexandra Elizabeth Berry, Rebecca Madison Berry, Jordan Caroline Francis, Holly Lauren Hutchinson, Laura Michelle Lafitte, Stephanie Ann Lafitte, Hayden Nicole Potter, Patricia Bailey Ross, and Audrey Elizabeth Senter. Members of the house party included Rachel Jean Breitenwischer, Julia Marie Bulhon, Katherine Vail Crenshaw, Brooks Buckner Dennard, Kathryn Jane Jenevein, Rebecca Michelle Hail, Jordan Elizabeth Lane, Claire Augusta McLaughlin, Catherine Brooke Oles, Julia Harrison Robinson, Marietta Cecile Scott, Grace Preston Sheehan, Emily Anne Shuford, and Catherine Dianne Vail.

Serving the groom as best man was Crittenden Porter Berry. His groomsmen included Hampden Norris Berry, Gregory Sayre Clement, Benjamin Michael Connor, Chase Mead Erickson, Jason Nemes Farmer, Robert Bradley Hicks, Blake Hail Lafitte, James David Marsico, Tommy Lee McGuire, Samuel Clinton Owen, Bradley Harwood Smith, and Stewart Thomas Stinson. Ushers were Andrew James Aberg, Matthew William Bryant, James David Coates, Justin Berry Cox, William Rhodes Edwards, Grant Scott Gordon, Robert McLean Kistner, Johnny Stormont Koons, Trenton Rivers Leon, Dayton Charles Macatee, Andrew Moore McDonald, Martin Jacob Newman, Chris Johnston Powers, and Robert Roy Sweeney. Margaret Lyn McCullough was the flower girl. Ring bearers were Samuel Lynch Hail and Jack Davis Winfield.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in American studies with a minor in business foundations from the University of Texas where she was also a member of Pi Beta Phi. She was employed by CBRE before her wedding and subsequent move overseas.

The groom is a graduate of the Episcopal School of Dallas. He received a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Texas where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He is employed by NTR Metals.

Following their wedding trip to Italy, the couple are at home now in London.
