Megan McCarty Adams and Stephen Harold Brooks II exchanged wedding vows February 12, 2011 at Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Dr. Ronald Scates officiated the ceremony. A reception followed at Arlington Hall at Lee Park.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Robert Adams of Highland Park. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Robert Dale Grubb of Tulsa, Okla. and the late Dr. Robert Dale Grubb, and Mrs. Reuben Homer Adams of Dallas and the late Dr. Reuben Homer Adams.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Stanford Columbus Finney Jr. of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Harold Brooks, also of Dallas. The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Howard Lee Norris of Tyler, Texas, Mr. John Gillett Sheppard Sr. of Longview, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Major McKinley Brooks of Palm Springs, Calif.

The bride chose an ivory mikado gown designed by Carolina Herrera. It featured a V-shaped neckline at front and back and its mermaid silhouette was accented by chevrons of pleated white taffeta, flowing beautifully into a chapel-length train.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted down the aisle by her father. Attending as matron of honor was MacKenzie Adams Carpenter. Maids of honor were Lindsay Bennett Adams and Kristen Elizabeth Adams. Bridesmaids included Catherine Elizabeth Finney, Meredith Cox Finney, Lacey Elizabeth Lemak, Whitney Grace Sprague, and Laura VanDevender Stansell. Members of the house party included Carey Shagets, Martha Wardlaw Griffin, Laura Elizabeth Sheppard and Finley Harbaugh. Ring bearers were Frazier Bentley Finney and Barron Thomas Griffin. The flower girl was Molllie Amelia Stansell.

Serving the groom as best man was Parker Bryson Brooks. Groomsmen included Carlton Allen Adams, Charles Robert Adams Jr., William Morgan Brooks, Benjamin Howard Gardner Carpenter II, Andrew Christian Dyer, Marshall Hohman Finney, Stanford Sheppard Finney, William Preston Finney, Dale Campbell Foster, Craig Andrew Lucie, Luke Cameron Shagets, James Marshall Smith, and Thomas Andrew Stansell.

The bride is a graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Fine Arts in textiles from the University of North Texas, and was also a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She is
the owner of Megan Adams Designs.

The groom is a graduate of Highland Park High School. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University, where he was also a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is employed by Grand Homes.

Following their wedding trip to Africa, the couple are at home in Dallas.
