Apathetic. Lazy.

A few errors - understandable. Riddled with errors? The writer loses credibility. If you are too lazy to properly write your opinion, why would I assume you properly formulated it?

What our lovely adult friends don't realize is that our grammatical incompetency is not incompetency but apathy. Why should we care? It's a blog. If we don't devote our attention to every minute apostrophe and comma, it's not because we can't. And to those who judge our mental capacities by comments left under an article for a community blog are just imbecilic.
The argument that *we* can't spell is hypocritical in the first place. There were plenty of mangled words and sentences in comments ostensibly posted by adults.

The silly thing about this whole debate is the legal drinking age. In Texas, after Prohibition, it was 21. Lowered to 18 in 1973 Raised to 19 in 1981 Raised to 21 in 1986 . So for only 13 short years, 18 year olds were legal. It's been age 21 for TWENTY SIX years now. Stop acting like its this new law or some birthright to drink at 18. Get over it, follow the laws set by our state and country.

That's great and all, but what did you gain from this? Maybe the grammar was poor because at least 80% of the posts were jokes and typed hastily on cell phones during class. Highland Park isn't ranked so highly academically because of our football team or the beautiful girls; we earn the distinction because: a.) the classes are retarded hard, b.) we bave an incredible AP and TaG program, c.) we have excellent teachers, and d.) we have a group of students intelligent enough to think for themselves and pull your bull shit apart from the truth. Journalism is supposed to be completely objective and impartial, reasonable and concise, but what is this? This is an immature attack by adults on the intelligence of their own children who, in case you didn't realise it already, didn't repond because no one reads this trash in the first place (except for the few parents on here with nothing better to do). The only reason I heard about this article is because one of my classmates was looking for A Tale of Two Symphony Balls and accidentally landed here. But seriously, you're a columnist for the Park Cities People. As in, that's your job. And this is what you choose to report on for your job. I think that's what's funny here. You report trash for a garbage newspaper. How about you do something, oh what's that word I'm looking for, productive? Is that it? I just can't seem to think clearly... Maybe once I get older my brain will finally work! Or maybe I'm just drunk or my education isn't strong enough to support all of you adult's elevated level of thinking... Regardless, there are plenty of other things worth reporting. But this? Come on.

@HP Parent...anyone with a couple of brains cells understood your post was a joke. I guess the collective IQ of today's posters is a little on the low end.

@HP Parent Your humor read as the joke intended. I really think that after wading through such awful posts before, some people just read it to be more of the same. And @Avid Reader, I probably was not clear myself. I just meant that I expect that nearly all HP students (and hopefully most JSB attendees) have the enough grasp of the English language to post the same tongue in cheek comments. I can't believe an HPISD education has degraded enough to result in the posts we've seen.

@expat- You do realize that "english" starts with an "E"? Yes, 4 years of English is required to receive a high school diploma in Texas, although it's hard to believe from the quality of expression on the JSB post.
