Just for the record, the Community League did not oppose the Beer and Wine election. They never said one word about it either way. They also did not spend any money on the opposition’s campaign. The folks I talked with who are members of the League basically just wanted to leave the issue up to the voters.

The last council before the current one had a woman on it, and she directly lied to my face on two different occasions. I don’t care if they are male or female, but the rubber-stamps from the Community League are just a facade for what the richest of the rich want. They do exactly as they are told by the League so that they can eventually have a park named after them.

“…it should be required!!!!!” to have a woman on the council. Now there’s someone who really understands freedom and the American way. I think it should be required to have four average white boys up there. Plus one chicken.

I would like to see a woman on the council – it should be required !!!!
Changes can only happen one small step at a time –
I understand there is a lot to be considered in the process – I would like to see a city council that embraces a positive attitude in allowing the city of UP to move with the times – or in some cases go back to strong old fashioned family values !
I would like to see back yard hens brought back into our city !!!
Currently we have 2 council members who voted to allow hens – we need one more to move into this camp !!!
I am hopeful this will come with a womans touch !!!!

Can someone please explain the history of the UP Community League? Does HP have a “Community League”? When did this group form? What is it exactly that they do here? Is this an elected group? Who formed this group? How is it funded? The only knowledge I have of this group is what UPDad mentioned; that they lied their pants off to try and scare people away from the alcohol resolution.

The Community League. The same group that spent millions spreading lies trying to stop the passage of the alcohol resolutions. Let’s hope that was the beginning of a losing streak. Oh how nice it would be for someone like Max to run.
