Thanks to a grant of $9,690 from Ragland, Strother & Lafitte and Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, Highland Park Department of Public Safety will acquire two new hoses for Engine-331, their “first out” fire engine.

HPDPS spokesperson Sgt. Lance Koppa said in a press release that the money will go towards 1000 feet of 5-inch supply hose and 750 feet of 3-inch attack hose. The 5-inch supply hose is used to supply water from a fire hydrant to a fire engine while the 3-inch attack hose is used to get large volumes of water from the fire engine to the fires.
