When Highland Park volleyball head coach Michael Dearman said he believed his team would get off to a good start this season, he wasn’t kidding.

After sweeping a dual match with Trophy Club Byron Nelson and Justin Northwest last night, the Lady Scots are now 8-1 on the year and haven’t lost since their season opener against Red Oak.

Highland Park beat Byron Nelson, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23, and Northwest, 25-19, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12. The Lady Scots will play in the Byron Nelson Tournament Friday and Saturday. Highland Park’s home opener is Tuesday against Frisco Liberty and Richardson in another dual match.

After nine games last season, the Lady Scots were 3-6.
