If You Wanted to Attend a University Park City Council Meeting This Year, Tonight’s Probably Your Best Bet

We’ve got the Park Cities YMCA.

We’ve got FY2013 budget approval.

We’ve got College Scholarship Program funding.

In any other week, any of those items could’ve been our lead news story in Friday’s edition, but I think you can all guess which one’s going to be. Unless the Council decides to fund the scholarship program by allowing annexation by Dallas, or something equally ridiculous.

What would be ridiculous is if the Council decides to go forward with the “Optional Utility Tax” to fund the scholarship program that has been run into the ground by whoever is managing the fund.

And calling it “optional utility tax” is putting it nicely! Since the “option” is to get out of it by going through more red tape.
