Would You Choose Jail on Weekends Only?

The Morning News has been covering the Collin County bribery case of Stacy Stine Cary, whom the paper identifies as a University Park mother of four. She was reportedly sentenced to 30 days in jail, which she can serve on weekends only or all at once. Which would you choose?

    Years ago, I had a friend who’s roommate was serving 90 days on weekends in Dallas. He went to jail around 10PM on Friday nights, and was out just after midnight on Saturday night. He got credit for 3 days served.

    Wouldn’t it be easier for everyone if she could just pay for someone to take her place in jail? She could pay for a different unemployed person to taker her place everyday and she could be at home with her 4 children. It would be a win/win. Real job creation.
