Jenni Jackson and Robert Mitchell exchanged nuptial vows on Aug. 11, 2012, at Royal Lane Baptist Church. Scott Jackson, brother of the bride, officiated the ceremony before 250 guests. Two of the bride’s sixth-grade students, Morgan Gerlach and Kennedy Hermansen, sang a duet in the wedding. The renowned Dallas band Tres Uvas y Una Rosa played beautiful, instrumental prelude music as guests were being seated. Three members of the notorious Highland Park Bagpipe Corps — Arya McCarthy, Keely Brown, and Cameron Keith — led the bride and groom recessional. A reception of dinner and dancing followed at the Royal Oaks Country Club. A 4-foot, 6-inch bride’s cake was created by Fancy Cakes by Lauren. It was a replica of the bride’s grandmother’s wedding cake.

The bride is the daughter of Judy Myers and Greg Jackson. The groom is the son of Kyong Nan Grekoff and the late John Mitchell.

Presented in marriage by her parents, and escorted down the aisle by her father, the bride wore a Private Label gown made exclusively for Bridal Collections by Stella. The ivory fit and flare gown had a sweetheart neckline, overlapping lace appliqués, three-dimensional floral décor, with intricate beadwork and embroidery throughout and a gorgeous cathedral-length train. Stella also created a one-of-a-kind ivory satin, beaded belt to accentuate the bride’s waist. Topping the bride’s two-tiered, crystal-embossed, shoulder-length veil was a sparkly, jeweled tiara, an exact replica of the one worn by Princess Kate Middleton. The bride carried her mother’s handkerchief, given to her mother for her own wedding day by the bride’s grandmother.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Tanya Johanson, a fellow sixth-grade teacher at McCulloch Intermediate School. Matron of honor was Sofia Jackson, sister-in-law of the bride. Bridesmaids included Amy Mitchell, Whitney Frendle, Keri Johnson, Lindsay Estes, and Rachel Schuh. Junior bridesmaids were Ashley Ohland and Megan Ohland, twin cousins of the bride. Flower girls were Grace Anne Jackson and Alexandria Myers-Haire.

Assisting the groom as best man was Eric Marquez De La Plata. His groomsmen included Brandon Mitchell, Paul Hakimian, James Palin, Marshall Nation, Brandon Day, and Pat Clough. Ushers were Brett Myers, Travis Day, Paul Day, and James Jackson. Campbell Jackson was ring bearer.

The bride is a graduate of Trinity Christian Academy in Addison. She received a Bachelor of Education at Texas Tech University and a Master of Education at the University of North Texas. She has been a sixth-grade language-arts teacher at McCulloch Intermediate School for 10 years. The bride is also a member of the Junior League of Dallas and the Pi Beta Phi Alumni group.

The groom is a graduate of Bryan Adams High School in Dallas. He was a student at Texas A&M University, where he studied business administration, and he later received his MBA from Dallas Baptist University. The groom is an IT project manager for Intuit.

Following their wedding trip to Hawaii, the newlyweds have made their home in University Park.
