Sad to hear about the BR store closing…rode bikes up there with my dad and brothers many summer nights after dinner time (or took the ’65 VW bug and leaned on the chrome front bumper)…probably started going soon after opening 40 years ago. Not surprised they are going out of business with rents in the center going up up up. Surprised they stayed in business so long. Their sales could afford rents in Snider Plaza maybe…wish them the best. Brings to mind the closing of the old Dairy Queen on Hillcrest across from SMU. Tough to see things change, but that’s the way the world works.

I had no idea – so sad. I have been going there since I was a little girl. Currently, it is the most affordable ice cream in the hood. Marble slab is good but VERY expensive.

I am so sad. We have been buying our family birthday cakes there for years. One time we tried another Basking Robbins (only because I was shopping near another location and wanted to save time) and it was not the same. Our family will be sure to stop by before the 29th and wish them well.
