Great Play, Horrible Ad Placement

Kaitlyn Read has been starting for the Lady Scots for years.

Highland Park senior guard Kaitlyn Read has been named the Girls High School Basketball Player of the Week by The Dallas Morning News. But come on, Sports Day — does high school content have to share a page with an advertisement promoting “great sex”?

In other news, Kaitlyn’s dad has told both me and sports editor Chuck Cox that she was considering playing for NYU, but the Morning News’ blurb seems to make it official.

The Lady Scots are on fire! They need some loud fans to cheer them on tomorrow night against the other district undefeated team of Newman Smith! Come cheer on the ladies and see some great basketball. The 8th grade teams will be introduced at half.

    Go Scots!

What’s funny is that those marginal ads are bot-selected based on the reader’s browsing history, correct? I kid, I kid. I think. But when I call the story up, the ads are for ESPN. Maybe they changed them.
