On Tuesday night, the Highland Park boys basketball team avenged one of its two District 10-4A losses with a dramatic 43-40 road win over Mesquite Poteet.

The Scots (21-6, 6-2) will try to do the same thing tonight when they host West Mesquite at 7 at Highlander Fieldhouse. The Wranglers handed Highland Park a 64-61 loss on Jan. 3. The two teams are tied for second place in the district standings. Newman Smith is alone in first at 7-1.
