More Details Released Regarding Fatal Shooting
Via the Margulies Communications Group, media outlets have been given a copy of the letter that Highland Park Mayor Joel Williams and Department of Public Safety Chief Chris Vinson wrote to the town’s residents regarding Tuesday’s fatal shooting. The letter doesn’t mention how police officers missed the gun on David Edwin Hartman, 32, or how he removed the handcuffs officers put him in. I got his name from an incident report that was also sent by Margulies; that report says Hartman was a resident of Pottsboro, Texas, was riding a Kawasaki Ninja, and was carrying a Taurus .22 LR semi-automatic pistol.
