Former Scot Clayton Kershaw, making his third straight All-Star Game appearance, threw a 1-2-3 third inning for the National League in a 3-0 loss to the American League on Tuesday night at Citi Field in New York City.

Kershaw was the only representative for the Los Angeles Dodgers, who open the second half on Friday at Washington. The Dodgers (47-47) are 2 1/2 games behind first-place Arizona in the National League West.

Kershaw, who is scheduled to start on Sunday, is 8-6 with 1.98 ERA and 139 strikeouts.
