Alison Avril Pitzer and Nicholas Robert Mesec exchanged wedding vows June 8, 2013, at the Vintage Estates in the quaint town of Yountville, Calif. The Rev. Marshall Zieman, of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, officiated. An Elegant Touch of Strings, a string quartet from Oakley, Calif., played during the ceremony and the cocktail reception that followed. Afterwards, family and friends enjoyed a sit-down dinner, catered by The Villagio, on the lawn and gardens of the 23-acre estate. At sunset, guests moved inside for dessert and dancing in the 140-year-old Historic Barrel Room with music provided by the popular San Francisco band Big City Review. The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was held on the eve of the wedding at Trespass Vineyard in St. Helena. Carson Castellaw, of Jordan Payne Events, coordinated the Napa wedding, and Gavin Farrington from San Francisco served as photographer.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pitzer of University Park. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Werneth Avril of Wyoming, Ohio; Mrs. Pattye Dalchau Ward of Dallas; and the late Mr. Robert Pitzer of Asheville, N.C.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mesec, also of University Park. He is the grandson of Dr. Joseph Williamson and the late Mrs. Joseph Williamson of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Rita Mesec and the late Mr. Robert Mesec of Houston.

Alison chose a gown designed by Elizabeth Fillmore exclusively for Warren Barrón Bridal. It featured a classic sweetheart neckline that gracefully dipped into a lovely low v-back. Accentuating her waist was a Lush ivory sash that twisted into a beautiful full bow, adding the perfect touch of femininity. The modified mermaid silhouette featured French ivory floral lace over a blush underlay of silk. The blush was the perfect hint of color to highlight the delicate pattern of the lace. Alison chose a cathedral-length veil of Italian lace with organza trim by designer Monvieve.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Brittain Bakke Ewert. Bridesmaids were Caroline Adams, Madeleine Hall, Lindsey Howie, Taylor Lane, Brittany Mesec, Rachel Riley, Molly Thompson, and Elizabeth Watson. Members of the house party included Hallie Bauer, Brooke Grisebaum, Riley Mundinger, Alixe Ryan, and Hayley Vaughan.

Serving the groom as best man was Bryant Popejoy. Groomsmen included Bates Arnot Jr., Grant Ballew, Taylor Inman, Greer Oxford, Austin Pitzer, Chad Russell, Danny Solomon, and Towers Wilen. Ushers were Will Bakke, Mason Gilmore, Will Hickey, Matt Lucas, John McBroom, and Conner Wood. Will Bakke also read scripture at the ceremony.

The bride is a 2007 graduate of Highland Park High School. She received a Bachelor of Art in textiles and apparel from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Alison is employed by Fossil Inc. as brand coordinator for Michele and Zodiac watches.

The groom is a 2005 graduate of Highland Park High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He is a drilling engineer for Pioneer Natural Resources in Dallas.

Alison and Nick enjoyed a honeymoon on the island of St. Barth’s before returning home. They now reside in University Park.
