Be Careful If You Stay Out Late

An altercation outside a nightclub led to a man being hit with a fist and a car at about 1:40 a.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Travis Street.

The incident involved a male dancer at BJ’s NXS who told police he was checking on the well-being of a customer. That apparently led to an argument, during which the dancer was punched in the face. As the man walked to the restroom inside the club, the dancer followed him and was punched in the face again.

Both men wound up getting thrown out of the club, but the dispute carried over to the parking lot, where the customer tried to run over the dancer with a tan 1997 Toyota sedan. The dancer jumped on to the curb but was still struck on the arm by the car.

The customer, accompanied by a passenger, then lost control of the car and collided with a parked gray 2013 Dodge sedan before stopping on a sidewalk. He got out of the car and punched the dancer in the face a third time.

The dancer ran into an adjacent pizza restaurant with minor injuries, while the customer fled on foot. The passenger in his car remained at the scene until officers arrived. Both the Toyota and the Dodge had to be towed from the scene.
