The Heart of Dallas chapter of the National Charity League put together more than 1.2 million meals for the Dallas 2015 Feed My Starving Children Meal Pack during their chapter retreat last month.

The mothers and daughters (know as Patronesses and Ticktockers) measured and packaged ingredients such as rice, soy, vitamins, and vegetables to send to starving children around the world.

“Volunteering with my daughter allows us to experience a variety of outreach organizations,” Marcia Mooch, HOD retreat chair, said. “This has been priceless time together. “

The HOD has a philanthropic retreat every year for the daughters to work together, and this year their mothers joined them.

“I continue to be blown away by our Ticktockers’ active engagement in helping those around them while raising their own awareness of the issues faced by members of our North Texas community,” Amy Genender, president of NCL HOD, said.
