HP Awards Town Hall Construction Bid

With construction bid awarded, Highland Park Town Hall will begin in renovation in early January.

The council decided Monday to put the Town Hall renovation in the hands of Lee Lewis Construction out of Lubbock, Texas. Town administrator Bill Lindley said the town took seven proposals through a scoring process that weighed price, construction schedule, and several additional factors. Lee Lewis’ bid at $9,424,000 came in under the $10 million expected for construction, Lindely said. He said staff approved their bid not only for price, but reputation, as well.

“They were the apparent low bidder, but they also were the absolute, qualified low bidder,” Lindley said.

Hasn’t renovation already begun? The middle of the building is essentially gone.

Yes, renovation has begun, but demolition was a separate contract I believe…this company will build the new structure starting sometime in January we hope.

They’ve stripped down the exterior of the building, but all the new construction will begin with Lee Lewis in January.
