For the second time in four weeks, the Highland Park football team will be playing one day earlier than normal.

Fresh off their huge 41-26 victory over Mesquite Poteet last Friday, the Scots (5-1, 3-0) will battle West Mesquite (3-3, 3-0) at 7 tonight at Memorial Stadium with sole possession of first place in the District 10-4A standings on the line.

The Wranglers have rebounded from an 0-3 start with three straight wins over Creekview, Terrell, and North Forney. West Mesquite lost starting quarterback Chason Virgil to an injury in the team’s third game of the season. He came back last week and threw four touchdowns in a 44-13 victory.

The Scots have never lost to the Wranglers in 14 tries.
