Former Highland Park standout Matthew Stafford became the second-fastest quarterback in NFL history to throw for 10,000 yards in last week’s 31-14 win over Jacksonville.

“It’s cool, but other than that I don’t care,” Stafford told the Detroit Free Press.

Stafford reached 10,000 yards in his 37th career game. That’s just one more game than Kurt Warner, who did it with the St. Louis Rams.

Stafford and the Lions (4-4) take on Minnesota at noon Sunday. Prior to the game, Fox’s NFL pregame show will have a feature on Texas quarterbacks in the NFL spotlighting Stafford and Minnesota’s Christian Ponder, who played at Colleyville Heritage.
