Dallas Lutheran School recently capped a week’s worth of 1970s-themed festivities with its homecoming football game against Ovilla Christian.

The events included such dress-up favorites as Freaky Fan Day, Twin Day, Patriotic Day, and Disco Day. And on Friday, students wore the traditional mums and garters and participated in several afternoon competitions called “The Mane Event” — in honor of the Lions mascot — followed by a pep rally.

“Lion pride ran high all week,” said David Bangert, the school’s executive director. “The hours and hours of time put in by parent volunteers was very impressive and showed in the excitement and enthusiasm during each of the events. Homecoming week is always fun and allows us to connect with past and present students and families.”
