Student Artwork on Display at DMA

Last night the Dallas Museum of Art welcomed a host of talented young artists. And by young, we mean young – some of them were in pre-K. The Young Artists Program: Self-Portraits exhibition, free through Saturday, corresponds with the museum’s Art Ball 50.

The exhibit features works by 975 students from 12 schools, including Highland Park Middle School, Greenhill, and Hockaday.

Every year the Young Artist Program asks students to study a selected culture, artistic period, artist, or theme and create pieces based on that study. The cost of materials is funded by the program. This year students focused on studying artist self-portraiture.
