Skulduggery of the week: Pains of Glass

At 6:08 a.m. on May 25, a burglary was reported at Goo Goo Eyes in the Miracle Mile shopping center in which a miscreant broke the front window and stole more than $30,000 worth of Chanel, Miu Miu, Ray-Ban, and Prada sunglasses.

HIGHLAND PARK

26 TUESDAY
Between 5 p.m. on May 22 and 7 a.m. on May 26, a thief stole a $10,000 Sullair trailed-mounted air compressor from a multifamily construction site in the 4500 block of Abbott Avenue. The perpetrator might have cut a lock on a fence sometime on the evening of May 22 to access the property.

27 WEDNESDAY
At 3:45 p.m., a resident of the 3400 block of Harvard Avenuereported several thefts since February for which she suspects a former housekeeper. Among the purloined items are $15,950 worth of jewelry and $1,500 in cash.

At 9:15 p.m., Adrian McLean Busby, 35, of Dallas was arrested in the 4200 block of Versailles Avenue on two drug possession charges.

28 THURSDAY
Between 9:40 and 10:08 a.m., a burglar broke into a yellow GMC van in the 3500 block of Crescent Avenue and stole a $400 Stihl weed eater.

UNIVERSITY PARK

25 MONDAY
Between 2:30 p.m. on May 24 and 8:10 a.m. on May 25, a thief entered an unlocked gray 2014 Lexus sedan in the 3700 block of Centenary Drive and stole a wallet from the center console.

Between noon on May 21 and 12:30 p.m. on May 25, a prowler entered a home in the 3400 block of Granada Avenue but didn’t steal anything.

26 TUESDAY
Between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m., a thief entered an unlocked red 2001 Dodge Caravan at Park Cities Plaza and stole a $300 iPad Mini, $150 worth of jewelry, a $100 iPhone, and a $50 purse.

27 WEDNESDAY
Between May 16 and May 27, a vandal keyed a gray 2008 Toyota SUV in the 2900 block of Purdue Avenue.

29 FRIDAY
Between 10 p.m. on May 28 and 7:15 a.m. on May 29, a thief stole a white 2013 Cadillac Escalade, valued at $90,000, from the 3700 block of Southwestern Boulevard.
