Skulduggery of the week: A DOGGONE SHAME
Between 6 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 19, a burglar broke into a house in the 4200 block of Normandy Avenue and stole a $500 puppy.
HIGHLAND PARK
16 MONDAY
At 3:19 a.m., Dennis Lee Northern, 55, of Dallas was arrested in the 4500 block of Rheims Place on charges of criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia.
At 1:12 p.m., a resident of the 4500 block of Arcady Avenue reported the theft of a $400 Bursa revolver and $25 worth of ammunition from a house sometime between Nov. 7 and Nov. 15. The victim suspects a construction crew of the theft.
17 TUESDAY
At 11:05 a.m., a resident of the 4300 block of Westway Avenue reported the burglary of a black 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe between Oct. 31 and Nov. 14. The perpetrator took two rear seats and left an empty beer can inside a paper bag in their place.
19 THURSDAY
Between 9 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 19, a burglar broke into a black 2013 Cadillac Escalade in the 4500 block of Arcady Avenue and stole the third-row seat.
Between 10 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 8:48 a.m. on Nov. 19, a burglar broke into a black 2008 GMC Yukon in the 4500 block of Lorraine Avenue and attempted to steal the third-row seat, but was thwarted by a locking mechanism. The same thing happened during the same time frame to a silver 2011 Chevrolet Suburban in the 4400 block of Livingston Avenue.
Between 1 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Nov. 19, a burglar broke into a silver 2011 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 4500 block of South Versailles Avenue and stole the third-row seat.
20 FRIDAY
At 11:30 a.m., a thief stole a $3,000 Chanel purse containing a $900 Chanel wallet from an unlocked gray 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe at the UPS Store in the 4800 block of Lemmon Avenue.
22 SUNDAY
At 12:06 a.m., William Joseph Mallen III, 25, of Dallas was arrested in the 4700 block of Drexel Drive on a public intoxication charge.
UNIVERSITY PARK
17 TUESDAY
At 8:50 a.m., a thief stole a Toshiba laptop computer from an unlocked house in the 4100 block of Amherst Street.
Between 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 and 9 a.m. on Nov. 17, a burglar broke into a black 2012 GMC Yukon in the 2700 block of Hanover Street and attempted to steal the third-row seat, but was unsuccessful.
Between 12:30 and 2:40 p.m., a thief stole the tailgate, valued at $1,500, from a red 2010 Ford F-150 in the 3200 block of Hanover Street.
18 WEDNESDAY
Between 1:30 and 3 p.m., a thief stole a $1,000 Kona boys bicycle in the 2700 block of Fondren Drive.
19 THURSDAY
Between 7:55 p.m. on Nov. 18 and 7 a.m. on Nov. 19, a burglar broke into a black 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe in the 2800 block of Westminster Avenue and stole the third-row seat.
21 SATURDAY
Between 8 a.m. on Nov. 17 and 3 p.m. on Nov. 21, a burglar broke into a black 2013 Chevrolet Suburban in the 2900 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole the third-row seat and a $1,500 Apple laptop computer.
At 10:49 p.m., a 17-year-old Highland Park High School student was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped in a black 2014 GMC Yukon in the 3300 block of Daniel Avenue.
