Internships

Editorial, advertising, marketing, circulation, and Web internships are available at D Magazine Partners, publishers of D Magazine, D Home, D Weddings, D CEO, Dallas Medical Directory, six community newspapers under the heading People Newspapers, and numerous custom publications.

A strong interest and some experience in the area in which you apply are preferred, in addition to excellent computer, communication, and organizational skills. Must be willing to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment under tight deadlines. Although internships are unpaid, D Magazine Partners interns gain invaluable real-world work experience. Interns should be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays.

Please e-mail a resume and completed questionnaire to internapplications@dmagazine.com for magazine titles, and internapplications@peoplenewspapers.com for the newspapers. PLEASE INDICATE THE DEPARTMENT YOU ARE APPLYING FOR IN THE SUBJECT LINE. If you do not fill out the questionnaire or if you do not note what area you would like to work in, your resume will not be considered. You must be at least 21 or older to apply. Please allow at least two weeks for a response.

People Newspapers Advertising Sales/Marketing Intern
Intern/s will be exposed to all facets of the advertising/marketing efforts of the newspaper: completing special projects for Marketing Consultants including gathering materials to provide to clients, cold calling to update/maintain client databases, phone prospecting, updating sales tools/marketing collateral, creating logs of advertisers in competitor publications, and assisting Marketing Manager in event planning/execution.

A great introduction into the publishing world, and includes opportunities to interact with all departments, not just advertising/marketing. Get ready for a fast-moving, and dynamic semester!
