UP’s One School, Many Cultures Festival
Internationals Days and Night has been a long-standing tradition for the last 30 years at University Park Elementary School. The three day event took place on March 15-18.
Throughout those three days, students were immersed in other cultures through their classes with culturally relevant lessons and at lunch with an international menu.
International Night Festival: One School, Many Cultures brought the three-day event to a close on March 18 at 5 p.m. The festival kicked off with World Cup Soccer followed by small performances from Highland Park Bagpipe Corps, United Dance Academy Bollywood Dancers, and Holy Trinity Hellenic Dancers. Attendees enjoyed international dishes, learning different songs and dances from other cultures, table exhibits and presentations, and craft tables.
The night was concluded with performances from each grade representing different continents. They performed dances from regions and countries within their continent.
