On the same weekend that the United States claimed the Ryder Cup, Highland Park opened its season with a stirring victory of its own.

The Scots rallied from a four-shot deficit on the final day to win The Classic Invitational tournament at Texarkana Country Club. Turner Hosch paced HP with a score of 74-72—146, while freshman Scott Roden led the charge in the final round with a 70.

The Scots will tee off again on Oct. 14-15 at Lakecliff Golf Club near Marble Falls, in the second of three tournaments during the fall season.
