HP Hitters Shine During Opening Tie
Highland Park’s season debut showed some promise before ending in a 6-6 tie against Garland Naaman Forest on Tuesday. Sophomore infielder Ciara Fortenberry got her campaign off to a strong start by going 3-for-3 at the plate.
The Lady Scots will travel to the Tournament of Champions beginning Thursday at Oran Good Park in Farmers Branch. Their pool opponents include Haslet Eaton, Frisco Reedy, El Paso Eastwood, and Celina. Bracket play is slated for Saturday.
After that, HP will head to Frisco Liberty for a nondistrict game on Feb. 24. The Lady Scots won’t return home until March 2 against Keller Central.
