Scots Race to Title in Season Debut

These guys needed only one meet to claim their first team championship of the track and field season.

Highland Park started the season by racing to the team title at the Raider Invitational on Saturday in Garland.

Four individual gold medals bolstered the Scots, including Jimmy Rupple (400), Sam Sloan (800), Trevor Schillaci (1,600), and Christopher Herod (300 hurdles). Others with individual podium finishes for HP included Brock Bakich, Charlie Philbin, Etienne Black, Tyler Mead, and Colby Green.

Meanwhile, the HP girls finished third as a team at the Newman Smith Trojan Relays in Carrollton. Olivia Conner tied for the top spot in the 300 hurdles and placed third in the high jump.

Also reaching the podium for the Lady Scots were Cameron Fawcett (3,200), Maddy Stephens (800), Morgan Thompson (discus), and Abbey Govett (long jump).
